Has AI Gotten Better at Designing Billboards? Comparison
In August of 2022, we did a post about using AI (Artificial Intelligence) to design billboard ads. The results were well… not great. We recently tried the experiment again with the same prompts to see if the results were any better, and I have to say it’s made some decent improvements.
Below are the original results from 2022 as well as the newer results…
2022 Results:
“A billboard advertisement for Coca-Cola with a woman wearing sunglasses”
2024 Results:
“A billboard advertisement for Coca-Cola with a woman wearing sunglasses”
The people in the advertisements have gotten substantially better. The billboard structures have improved and are more life-like. The Coke logo has improved as well. The overall design has improved moderately.
2022 Results:
“An advertisement for a James Bond movie”
2024 Results:
“An advertisement for a James Bond movie”
This one has gotten considerably better overall. One theme we see in every AI-generated image is that you can always tell they are AI. Even more so now than before.
2024 Results:
“A billboard advertisement with the words Advertise Here”
We’re still seeing spelling issues when it comes to using actual words. This hasn’t improved much when it comes to images with text on them. According to TechCrunch, experts don’t see a solution to this anytime in the near future.
2022 Results:
“A billboard on a busy futuristic street. The billboard advertises a flying car. The billboard advertisement displays a flying car with the words: The Future is Now!”
2024 Results:
“A billboard on a busy futuristic street. The billboard advertises a flying car. The billboard advertisement displays a flying car with the words: The Future is Now!”
As far as the subject in this experiment (A Flying Car), it has improved quite a bit. And surprisingly, there are no spelling errors.
