What is OOH (out-of-home advertising)?
OOH advertising, also known as outdoor media, is advertising that reaches consumers while they are outside of their home. The OOH industry is introducing new digital technologies and convergence, new lighting and materials, more innovative business practices, and new audiences ratings system. OOH advertising falls into several categories: billboards, streets, roads, highways, transit and alternative. Are billboards still effective? Yes, studies show that 70% of us look at roadside billboards (traditional and digital combined) and one-third (37%) report looking at an outdoor ad each or most of the time they pass one. Outdoor advertising does work, in the sense that people (A) notice it and (B) are influenced by it to some degree. Outdoor advertising is not necessarily the least expensive advertising media… So you make sure that you have everything planned out on what you are wanting your ad to achieve and don’t be afraid to pay extra for the busy areas that will get your business noticed even more. And always remember that less is more. Drivers only have a few seconds to grasp your message.
