Wildstone acquires iconic ‘Berlin Videowall’ digital billboard

Wildstone, the leading owner of outdoor media infrastructure in the UK and Europe, has acquired the Berlin Videowall, one of Germany’s most iconic OOH advertising sites.

Integrated into the former 5-star Swissôtel, on a prominent corner of Berlin’s famous Kurfürstendamm, the 104m2 digital billboard has anamorphic 3D capabilities and runs 24/7, reaching over 181,000 viewers daily. The ‘Berlin Videowall’ is not only the largest digital advertising installation in the center of Berlin and an extremely rare example of a German digital advertising of this size, but also one of the largest LED screens in Germany that is approved for third-party advertising in public spaces.

Wildstone acquired the site from LIMES, the German outdoor advertising specialist. LIMES was previously both the owner and marketer of the advertising system and Wildstone has succeeded in retaining LIMES as the exclusive and long-term marketer/media operator.

The sale not only provides LIMES with additional financial flexibility for new products and expansion but also allows the company to focus exclusively on its core competence: media sales. As Wildstone is now responsible for the ownership and operation of the site, the transaction ensures above all, that both companies can concentrate fully on their respective strengths.

For Wildstone, the acquisition also represents a new milestone in the European market. Following the company’s establishment in Germany last year with the acquisition of the OOH advertising group AdverTower, Berlin Videowall signifies a diversification towards high-quality and inner-city advertising space.
